Mayweather vs. McGregor II inside the Octagon?

With rumours of a UFC superfight and money-spinning rematch between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor gathering momentum, the promotion’s long-time President, Dana White, has claimed that the fight ‘only makes sense’ inside the cage.

According to White, this is more than likely the only way a second fight will happen: “Obviously, the only way making that fight again makes any sense is if he comes over to the Octagon,” White told UFC Tonight.

“We went over and boxed him, the UFC and Conor McGregor. And now it’s time for him to reciprocate and come fight in the Octagon.

“Floyd said leading up to the fight with Conor that he would do both. So we’ll see what happens.”

Nate Diaz open to Tyron Woodley Scrap

Following Tyron Woodley’s comments that he would ‘put his house’ on Nate Diaz being his next opponent, the Stockton fan favourite has given fans reason to believe that the fight may happen.

“I’m getting to the point where I’m sick of not fighting. I’m not getting any younger,” Diaz told ESPN. “I put that tweet out saying I wanted to fight in May or June, but I didn’t say who because I was weighing my options. And now, Woodley is my best option.

”I see him on TMZ every week, talking about me. I’m like, ‘What the f– -? If that’s what you want to do.’ It’s not really my weight class, but I’m with it. I think it’s my title we’re fighting for. If he’s the one calling me out, whose title are we fighting for? Who’s the real champion here?”

Frankie Edgar gets new opponent, while Cris Cyborg joins top bill of UFC 222

Frankie Edgar moves engages in an intriguing co-main event against face Brian Ortega, who currently occupies third place in the UFC featherweight rankings, and is undefeated in the promotion.

Following a spectacular win over Cub Swanson in December, Ortega shot up the rankings and now faces one of the most fearsome talents at 145-pounds. The winner of this bout will go up against Max Holloway in a revamp of UFC 222.

Women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg goes head to head with Yana Kunitskaya for the main event of the evening in Las Vegas.

Tyron Woodley fires back at Dana White

UFC welterweight kingpin Tyron Woodley took to Twitter in response to Dana White’s recent comments, disparaging him for chasing a fight with Nate Diaz.

White claimed Woodley was “full of sh*t” on a recent appearance of UFC Tonight. Woodley’s response was aimed at his fans: “Who has a history of being full of s–t, DW or TW,” Woodley wrote to Twitter.

Are we prepared for the return of Brock Lesnar?

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, currently plying his trade with WWE, may be in line for his first appearance in MMA since UFC 200 in 2016, according to Dana White: “Anything is possible,” White told UFC Tonight. “Brock has always shown interest in coming over and fighting in the UFC. I wouldn’t be shocked if he gave it one more shot.”
