UFC 229 Recommended Betting Odds

In the build-up to this UFC 229 match-up we have scraped the web to find the betting markets likely to pay out and have included them in our fight preview. Our views are in no way associated with bookmaker platforms or organisations. Always gamble responsibly.

OSP to win outright @ 9/5

St Preux has shown himself to be a versatile fighter throughout his 17 UFC fights. Although he has lost six of those bouts, his 11 wins have come mainly via submission, but there also a few TKO/KO and decision victories amongst them.

The Haitian native usually does very well against fighters who are middle-of-the-range, and given that he is the most accomplished fighter Reyes has faced so far, it is hard to tell (at this time) whether St Preux is in for an easy win, or a hard fought loss. Because of that, a bet against St Preux to win is risky, but one that could yield a major payday.

Reyes to win outright @ 5/11

Just like our views on St Preux winning outright, we are simply not sure how Reye’s will perform against an accomplished veteran like St Preux. Reyes has finished all of his three UFC fights in the first round, so he has a lot of momentum behind him, but St Preux is a huge test for any prospect.

Like St Preux, Reyes has also displayed a versatile repertoire and possesses a highly technical skillset, and if he can employ that against St Preux while avoiding his hard strikes, then he may be able to finish OSP early on. Again, this is also a potentially risky bet as it is not known if Reyes has what it takes to beat a durable veteran like St Preux.

Fight to go the distance @ 7/2

Reyes has only gone to a decision once in his nine-fight career, while his other fights have not made it out of the first round. It has not been the same story for St Preux though, with 11 of his 34 total MMA fights having gone to the judges.

Both fighters are likely to be tentative early on as they know that either of them can end the fight quickly and dangerously. Although we believe the fight is more likely to end in a stoppage rather than a decision, we also believe there is a very realistic potential of it being left in the hands of the judges.

Our Prediction – Reyes Win

As far as we’re concerned, it’s potentially anyone’s fight, but we think Reyes is the real deal and he’ll be able to find OSP’s chin and finish him in the second round. Back Reyes to win outright at short odds or bank on him finishing the fight by KO/TKO for a decent return.
