Cameroonian Heavyweight Francis Ngannou has been on the receiving end of a number of online jabs and callouts from fellow Heavyweght fighter Derrick Lewis this year.
On the day after UFC 220, Lewis posted a video of himself next to a treadmill in what was a blatant jab at Ngannou and the lack of cardio he displayed in the fight against Miocic. Lewis also took another jab at Ngannou after he beat Marcin Tybura at UFC Austin in February.
After that win, the Black Beast alluded to rumours that Ngannou may actually be older than his official age of 31 by saying that he hoped they could arrange a fight “before he turns 50 on us”.
Ngannou has, perhaps surprisingly, stayed silent over the whole time the ‘Black Beast’ had made those remarks.
Ngannou has not shown a penchant for trash talk over his six-fight UFC career, instead opting to let his action star-like physique and scary knockout power do the talking for him.
That is, until now.
In a short but sweet statement on Twitter, Ngannou acknowledged all of Lewis’s recent talk, and stated that he should talk with the UFC brass to put a fight together.
“Can someone please let him [Lewis] know that I’m here now,” Ngannou wrote. “If he really wants me, he should send his manager to deal with the UFC.”
