Venue: The O2 Arena in London
Time: Coverage will begin at 7pm (UK time).

Who is Dillian Whyte?

Record: 22-1 (16 KO’s)
Stance: Orthodox
Age: 29
Height/Reach: 6’4/78’

Most people will remember Dillian Whyte for the only loss which he has so far experienced in 2015 against Anthony Joshua. Whyte has said that the defeat against Joshua has helped to make him into a better fighter and it is hard to argue otherwise as he has since then managed to win during his last six bouts which included a dramatic win in 2016 over Dereck Chisora.

After the loss against Joshua, Whyte has made adjustments to himself, paying attention to the science of fighting and he is no longer a straight-up brawler.

If Whyte continues his improvement, there is no reason to think why he will not be able to challenge for a world title soon.

Who is Lucas Browne?

Record: 25-0 (22 KO’s)
Stance: Orthodox
Height/Range: 6’5/77”
Age: 38

Brown who only started taking boxing seriously in 2011 when he was 32-years- old has yet to suffer his first professional defeat.

Browne does not have the most natural looking technique and boxes like a 6’5 bodyguard who has some level of training.

At 38, Browne will be aware that it is now or never for him. If he loses, his career could be over and if he wins, he could launch a title push.

What could however work against Browne in this match is his lack recent activity. He has only fought once since his controversial victory over Ruslan Chagaev as he went on to beat Matthew Greer in June 2017 via second round knockout.

Our prediction for Whyte vs. Browne

If you’re in the mood for a meaty slug-fest then tune in to this fight. There’s little finesse on offer with these two guys and the tempo will be slow and steady. We’re expecting Whyte to take this one on points, although it wouldn’t surprise us to see a late stoppage. Both fighters have the firepower to make that happen. Read our boxing prediction here.
