Outright winner

Carl Frampton to win outright 1 / 66 1 / 50 1 / 50 1 / 66 1 / 33 1 / 50 1 / 50 1 / 50 1 / 50
Luke Jackson to win outright 12 12 12 12 73 / 4 16 16 23 / 2 12
Draw 33 33 33 35 33 33 30 33

Poor Luke, none of the UK’s esteemed bookmakers are giving the Aussie a chance for the win. Hence his odds being overly generous ranging from 12/1 to 73/4 to win by any means possible. Let’s speculate as to why that may be: Jackson gave a goof account of himself as an amateur in 2012 and rose to the top in Hobart, so he’s no mug. But compared to a fighter in Frampton’s league, he’s lucky to share the same ring.

On the subject of credibility, the Jackal is widely regarded as the top contender in the featherweight division. Only Santa Cruz stands between him and the silverware. Frampton may see this contest as nothing more than a filler in the journey to reclaiming a title. Santa Cruz or Warrington, the Irishman will be calling one of these fighters out after seeing to Jackson.

Method of victory

Market Bet365 SkyBet Ladbrokes William Hill Marathon Bet Betfair Paddy Power Unibet Coral
Carl Frampton by KO TKO or Disqualification 2 / 5 4 / 11 10 / 11 2 / 5 2 / 5 10 / 11
Carl Frampton by Decision or Technical Decision 15/8 15/8 10/11 2 2 10/11
Luke Jackson by KO TKO or Disqualification 22 12 25 25 25 25
Draw or Technical Draw 40 33 33 33 33
Luke Jackson by Decision or Technical Decision 33 40 22 40 40 22

Frampton went on record to say he’s tired of the jibes from Jackson and will put him to sleep early. The Irishman has a respectable KO record, however, the high tempo at which he fights could also wear down Jackson to the point of his corner throwing in the towel. The Aussies don’t travel well… just ask Dillion Whyte, or Luke Campbell.

It’s a landslide for the KO and therefore returns are low, however, Ladbrokes and Coral are sticking their neck on the line and offering sizeable odds for this outcome. The same bookies are also going odds on for a Frampton points victory, but we’d look at the former option as the lower-risk bet.

Fight to go the distance

Market Bet365 SkyBet Ladbrokes William Hill Marathon Bet Betfair Paddy Power Unibet Coral
No 4/11 2/5 4/11 4/11
Yes 2 7/4 15/8 15/8

It’s a resounding conclusion that Luke Jackson isn’t going to last 12 rounds. At least that’s what we can read from the available spread. As boxing betting goes, this is one for the high stakes if any worthwhile return is to be seen. Frampton by KO/TKO appears to offer better bang for the buck.

Frampton vs. Jackson Prediction

Does it really need spelling out? As brave as the boy from Australia may be in taking on a Himalaya of a boxing match in fighting Frampton, the odds are not stacked in his direction. We’ll be following the bookmakers’ signals and calling this one a forced stoppage in the Jackal’s favour before late rounds.

Frampton to win by KO/TKO
