GGG and Canelo set for 5th May

As expected a rematch between Canelo Alvarez and Genady Golovkin is on and will take place on the 5 th May.

The two fighters had a controversial draw during their first bout in September with many analysts and GGG himself feeling that he had done enough on the day for a win.

Canelo will be looking to improve his performance during the upcoming bout and at 27, he is perhaps at the peak of his career and while GGG is still competitive at 35-years-old, he is edging towards the retirement years.

Canelo said: “I’m delighted to once again participate in one of the most important boxing events in history… this second fight is for the benefit and pleasure of all fans who desire to see the best fight the best. This time, Golovkin won’t have any excuses regarding the judges because I’m coming to knock him out.”
