McVay said he was contacted by the NFL regarding his improper mask usage during Sunday night’s game. McVay, 34, had a mask, but it sat around his neck — and not over his nose or mouth — for most of the game.

McVay admitted he needs to “do a better job of that,” and vowed to be more conscious of his mask moving forward.

While McVay feels he was singled out, that probably wasn’t the case. A number of NFL coaches didn’t wear their masks properly during Week 1. There are pictures of Brian Flores, Matt Patricia and Sean Payton all patrolling the sideline with their masks not covering their nose or mouth.
